This Grasshopper definition creates a pattern on a surface, not necessarily aligned with the uv mapping. The example shows a pattern changing accordingly to local Gaussian curvature, but it can be used to create a new uv mapping on the surface, aligned to whatever vector field you like.
This example shows how useful mapping from a surface to another can be.
